🏰 Historic Note

Spanish Point takes its name from the Spanish Armada ships wrecked along this coastline in 1588. Nearby Miltown Malbay is famous for the Willie Clancy Summer School, an annual celebration of traditional Irish music, song and dance held in memory of renowned local uilleann piper Willie Clancy.
